Sunreef has been steadily churning out new models of fully customisable, high-design multihulls since 2002. The latest to come from Sunreef is no exception: a new sailing yacht, known simply as the Sunreef 140 and oh boy, is it a doozy.
Incorporating immense living space and a number of unique technical features, this sailing yacht continues to push the boundaries of marine design. As the name would suggest, the Sunreef 140 spans just shy of 140 feet, prompting the yard to dub it as a “super catamaran.” In other words, it manages to combine the comfort and largess of a superyacht with the sleek silhouette and clean lines of a classic catamaran.
Similar to the six previous models in Sunreef’s sailing line, the new Sunreef 140 is equipped with a rigging that harnesses the wind, which is able to both supplement propulsion and improve the efficiency of the traditional diesel engines and electric motors. If the thought of low emissions excites you here, there’s also the option to add Sunreef’s proprietary solar power system that works to power the vessel’s amenities with emissions-free energy. Just like everything else you’ll find here, she’s also fully customisable.
Unlike its predecessors, however, Sunreef 140 has a novel new feature to the rear of the vessel. The aft cockpit, according to Sunreef, is one of the yacht’s most notable features, thanks to the large garage beneath that offers space for two large jet skis and a refuelling station. The flybridge, on the other hand, is fitted with a bar, dining table and a spa flanked by sun pads.
With a lounge and dining area for alfresco entertaining, Sunreef was also able to find room within the 140 feet for a nifty fold-out platform that connects the two separate hulls. This feature gives you a vast walkaround beach club, complete with your own sun loungers, and a diving platform. This beach club then flows onto a gym with a storage room for diving gear and water toys. How good.
As far as the interior is concerned, there is accommodation for up to 12 guests, but the full-beam owner’s suite definitely takes the cake. With panoramic views, along with private access to the spa and lounge on the bow terrace, there sure won’t be any questions about who owns the damn thing.
