Canelo Alvarez Is Selling His Bugatti Chiron

— 29 August 2022

The Bugatti Chiron has always been a bit of a flex hypercar, so it should be no surprise that boxing royalty Canelo Alvarez owns one. What is surprising, however, is that the pound-for-pound legend has decided to part ways with the blue brute and is hoping to pocket approximately $5.5 million in the process.

We’re not too sure if he’s simply clearing space in the garage for a new ride or if he’s just been watching the minimalists. Whatever the case, with only 1,520 miles on the odometer, you can rest assured there’s plenty of tick left in that W16.

The listing is pretty bare bones with only dot points provided. It appears the Chiron is a 2018 model in a two-tone Atlantic/french racing blue with black contrasts on both the exterior and interior. Alvarez claims the Bugatti was always garaged (we certainly won’t be arguing). Plus with his estimated US$85 million earnings from two fights in 2021, we assume the service book got stamped.

While we don’t know Canelo’s driving habits, the 8.0-litre, quad-turbocharged W16 produces 1,118.55 kW (1,500 hp/1,521 PS) and 1,600 Nm of torque, which should be enough to get the blood flowing of the next owner. Bugatti claims a 0–100 km/h in 2.4 seconds with an electronically limited top speed of 420 km/h.

The $5.5 million listing for this 2018 Bugatti Chiron is also open to offers, but given Canelo Alvarez has a reputation for elite counterpunching, we suggest you leave the low balls to Gumtree.
