Few icons capture the spirit of American freedom and appetite for the open road quite like a gleaming Airstream. And now, the company behind the caravans have soared to all-new heights by collaborating with the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation.
Introducing the Usonian Limited Edition Travel Trailer.
At just over 8.5 metres in length, the Usonian marries Wrightโs philosophy of harmony with nature to Airstreamโs hallmark aluminium shell for a very special design; drawing direct inspiration from the architectโs 1930s Taliesin West home in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Inside, Wrightโs fascination with the natural world is immediately evident, particularly in the rear hatch that opens up to serve as an invitation to the outside world. Two bench seats also convert seamlessly into a king-sized bed that faces outwards, allowing you to sleep under the stars โ a feature made famous by past Airstreams, but reimagined here as the primary sleeping area.
At dawn, the bed can be stowed away, and breakfast can be enjoyed around the dining table and fold-away desk that slots neatly into the wall. Frank Lloyd Wright aficionados will appreciate the additional windows, with two circular portholes nodding to his affinity for the geometric form (and positively flood the interior with light).
Beneath the trailerโs polished exterior lies rolling architecture that pays honours to two titans of design: founder Wally Byam and his legacy of exploration, as well as Wright himself and his vision of structures within their environment.
Airstream will offer a total of 200 build slots for the Usonian Limited Edition Travel Trailer, which is whpriced at US$184,900 (AU$285,000).
