Last month, the Asahi-owned Peroni Nastro Azzurro 0.0% announced a new global partnership with Ferrari, and last week, they invited a handful of global media to Maranello to celebrate.

In a true homecoming for the two iconic Italian brands, the multi-year partnership will see Peroni Nastro Azzurro 0.0% drop Aston Martin and enter a new racing chapter alongside Scuderia Ferrari Formula 1 and Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli series.

I travelled to Bologna for a three-day taste of the la dolce vita, cooking, eating, drinking, and driving, culminating in a lunch at the Ferrari-owned Cavallino restaurant with an appearance from Charles Leclerc.

Charles spoke of his love for Ferrari fans, his hometown, and Melbourne, as well as answering my question about his favourite Ferrari of all time: the 275GTB. Afterwards, he posed for individual photos, which was a lovely touch.

Flanking Charles were bottles of limited-edition Tifosi Nastro Azzurro 0.0% — a love letter to the Scuderia Ferrari fans — the bottles he and Carlos Sainz debuted in ‘The Break In’ video (shot at the Ferrari Factory) to launch the partnership. In honour of the inaugural year of the partnership, 2,024 bottles of Tifosi Nastro Azzurro 0.0% have been produced, with each bottle individually numbered from 1 to 2,024, which will be delivered to fans globally.

Throughout the trip, we consumed many an ice-cold Peroni Nastro Azzurro 0.0% and felt all the better for it the following day. Highlights included a pasta-making class and cocktail infusion masterclass preparing the strangely delicious Peroni Negroni — followed by a stunning dinner at Calmo restaurant in Bologna. I also spent the morning with the new Ferrari Purosangue, steering it through the hills of Modena, stopping only to shoot photos, smell rubber, and drink espresso.

After lunch at Cavallino, we toured the Ferrari Museum and stood face to face with the marque’s most famous road and race cars. Special mention must be made of the Ferrari 330 P4 (famous for its 1967 Daytona win) of which only three known examples exist, with an estimated value of AU$30-40 million. One-off commissions, prototypes, and champion-winning F1 cars make it a must-visit for any motoring enthusiast.

Tifosi Nastro Azzurro 0.0% bottles will be available in Italy, the United Kingdom, Ireland, the USA, Canada, Singapore, Romania, and Australia.

The author travelled to Bologna & Maranello as a guest of Peroni Australia.
