More often than not, it’s painfully clear the universe has its favourites. Such is the case with generational mid-fielding talent, Inter Miami CF co-owner/MLS conqueror, fashion icon, Spice Girl husband, and multi-millionaire, David Beckham — who’s now inked a multi-year deal with Hugo Boss to “design and curate” menswear collections for the renowned label.

As implied by the very nature of this partnership, the forthcoming collaboration — which has been described as “the first of its kind” for BOSS menswear — will reflect both the style and aesthetic values of Becks himself and the storied German brand.

Intriguingly, Boss executives have explained that this isn’t just another superficial marketing association, either; with Beckham apparently involved in all stages of the conception and design process.

Over the coming seasons, you can expect premium formal and casualwear that conveys a whole number of your usual fashion world platitudes: “commitment to excellence”… “highest quality”… “superior design”… “harnessing lifelong style credentials”… etc.

All you really need to know is that it’ll be sufficiently good for David Beckham to wear. And that right there puts enough gas in our tank.

“Over the last few years, I’ve been wanting to invest more time in design and fashion, but wanted to ensure I collaborated with a brand and team that could deliver something truly global and impactful,” Beckham expressed via press statement.

“I’ve really enjoyed the collaboration with BOSS so far and have been impressed by the team’s ambition, creativity, and desire for excellence. I look forward to sharing what we’ve been working on so far, including the Fall/Winter 2024 campaign as the first step in our long-term partnership.”

Daniel Grieder, CEO of Hugo Boss, added: “David Beckham is a true global icon in both sports and fashion. With his distinctive entrepreneurial spirit and authentic passion for fashion, he perfectly embodies the values of our BOSS brand.”

“We are very much looking forward to seeing the first collections come to life and working closely with David throughout this multi-year partnership.”

The first official Hugo Boss x David Beckham collection is scheduled to be presented in Spring/Summer 2025.

The decorated retired footballer and subject of Netflix’s most memorable documentaries in recent history, on the other hand, will kick things off by appearing in the brand’s Fall/Winter global campaign later this year.
