Question: what’s better than an Aussie icon? Two Aussie icons, of course. And two Aussie icons for the price of a single collaboration is exactly what you’ll get with the special edition sneakers from Victoria Bitter and Volley – made for hard-working Aussies to slip on as soon as the old work boots come off.

As some of you may recall, the entire concept of the VB x Volley sneaker – appropriately dubbed “The Ultimate Shoey” – originated as an April Fool’s joke earlier this year. Taking a page out of Elon Musk’s playbook, due to the overwhelming response, Victoria Bitter and Volley decided to turn the visual punchline into something you can actually wear during silly season and beyond.

Based on Volley’s Heritage High silhouette – a revised iteration of the 1982 Volley High Leap – the VB x Volley sneaker features a durable ribbed canvas upper, custom metal eyelets, and original Volley rubber sole. Proudly sporting the VB colours, VB logo + slogan, as well as the signature of VB’s founder Thomas Aitken… for a hard-earned summer break, there’s only one shoe that can handle this year’s sesh.

“When we saw the popularity of the [April Fool’s post], we felt this was a good opportunity to offer something different to our drinkers,” says Hayden Turner, Victoria Bitter’s Marketing Director.

“We hope they love it as much as we do.”

In addition to the shoes ($84.99), Victoria Bitter and Volley have also gone ahead and conceived/designed/produced a matching pair of socks ($14.99) and limited edition cooler box ($94.99 including shoes).
