I Didn’t Want To Like This Viral Razor – But Now Use It Every Morning

  • Designed for sensitive skin and significantly reduces irritation, even when dry shaving in humid conditions.
  • Simple, flexible grooming with a 360° blade and 20 length settings that make shaving and trimming effortless.
  • Premium-level performance at a fair price point, making it one of the best-value razors available.

Since moving to Australia, I’ve struggled with my skin. Perhaps it’s largely to do with the climate, trading London and Amsterdam, where a dry grey day is met with an expected fanfare, for the warm, humid weeks of Sydney.

It’s meant that my regular grooming routine, a wet shave every 2-3 days, meant I was breaking out across my cheeks for weeks, sometimes months, at a time. So I knew I had to look around for a new razor. One that didn’t come with a thousand attachments. One that was simple enough to use so that I stuck with it, and, more importantly, didn’t break the bank doing it.

So, naturally, I did what everyone does now: I went to TikTok and Instagram and let the algorithm decide my fate. That’s where I kept seeing the Philips OneBlade Pro 360, usually in videos of guys with thick, coarse beards removing what can only be described as a face rug with suspicious ease.

Now, I should stress, I’m not one for viral products. Just because something has grabbed the attention of the masses doesn’t make it an inherently good product. But I’ve been quietly surprised with the Philips OneBlade Pro: rechargeable, portable and omni-directional, the 360 Blade has all the benefits (and performance) of an expensive razor at a fraction of the cost.

What actually sold me, though, wasn’t the spec sheet or the slow-motion beard demolitions set to lo-fi beats on my For You Page. But the first time I actually used it, half-asleep and running late for work.

I had seen that many of the users didn’t put on any shaving foam, so I dry shaved, reluctantly dragging the viral blade across my face expecting the usual sting and timely breakout on the morning commute into the office.

But, this time, nothing. No redness. No angry bumps staging a coup across my neck and cheeks. Just a clean, even shave that managed to take any stubborn stubble I had left right down to the skin.

On paper, the specs read like a lot of very confident engineering, with fast-moving cutters, dual protection systems, contour-following technology. For the most part, it’s the kind of language that usually makes my eyes glaze over after reading for too long. For me, the proof has to be in the shave. And after just one use, it’s left me squeaky clean.

Now, I’m someone that likes to be clean shaven, but for those that leave a little on the sides, the Philips OneBlade 360 Pro’s dual-sided blade makes lining things up oddly satisfying. You can see exactly what you’re cutting, move in any direction, and stop before things get experimental.

The 20 lock-in length settings in the OneBlade Pro’s adjustable precision comb mean it’s precise without being fussy. Which, first thing in the morning, is an absolute treat.

In the end, the OneBlade Pro 360 ticked all the boxes for me. Shaving didn’t feel like an Olympic sport, where a slightest miscalculation would lead to a week-long breakout across my face. And even better yet, I spent around half the time in front of the mirror each morning. The stakes were far lower, and my face felt better for it. And with the entry level model on sale for less than $60, it’s an absolute steal.
