Jaeger-LeCoultre this week announced that the brand will offer an 8-year warranty on all watches for clients enrolling in their new care program, including any watches previously sold and still covered by their original international warranty, which will be eligible for an 8-year warranty extension.

Commencing 15 May 2019 the newly announced program will offer customers a dedicated digital platform with value-added information, advice and the ability to log in-store services. The initiative rockets Jaeger-LeCoultre to the forefront of the industry when it comes to warranty, putting a heavy emphasis on customer relationships.

While it’s probably the last thing buyers think about, warranty and servicing costs should be a consideration when selecting a significant timepiece, especially if you plan on wearing it daily, as major services often take part in Switzerland and will, most likely, set you back four figures.

Ultimately, this move by Jaeger-LeCoultre gives former and prospective customers confidence in the craftsmanship and piece of mind. Hopefully, it prompts competitors to follow suit and keep customers onside with generous warranty periods for their watch purchases.
