  • Qantas Double Status Credits or Double Points promotion runs February 24 to March 2 2026.
  • Eligible travellers can earn double rewards on selected Qantas flights through early 2027 travel.
  • Members must register first to fast-track Qantas Frequent Flyer status or points accumulation.

Luxury travellers, listen up. The first Double Status Credits / Double Points promotion has just gone live on Qantas, meaning that it’s just got a lot easier to rise up the ranks of the airline’s Frequent Flyers program or earn more points for future flights and upgrades.

Running from February 24 to March 2 2026, Qantas’ ‘Twice as Rewarding’ campaign will give its frequent flyers the chance to earn more on every flight they take between March 3 2026 and February 12 2027.

To participate, travellers must first register for the promotion through the Qantas app or website before booking eligible flights.

Once registered, members can choose to earn either Double Status Credits to accelerate progression through Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Platinum One tiers, or take double points for more flexible future redemptions.

So how does it work? Normally, every Qantas operated flight (with a QF flight number) earns a certain number of credits and points depending on fare type, route, and distance.

During the promotion, however, whatever you would normally earn is simply multiplied by two, helping you either move closer to higher elite status tiers or grow your redeemable points balance faster. It’s just another way that the national carrier to looking to actively reward its frequent flyers to fast-track their way to higher status tiers and travel perks.

Let’s take Sydney to Melbourne as the example. For business travellers, a return journey would accumulate 1,750 Qantas Points or 40 Status Credits. Under the promotion, this would increase to 3,500 points or 80 Status Credits.

Eligible flights include Australian domestic and international services operated by Qantas with a QF flight number – this includes selected flights operated by partner carriers such as Finnair on behalf of Qantas, but excludes flights operated by other partners like Jetstar or Emirates with a QF code.

So which one should you choose? It’s fair to say that both have their upsides, but it can be difficult to determine which will make the most sense to you.

If you’re close to upgrading tier status, then opt for Double Status Credits, fast-tracking through the program to reach a higher tier and unlock perks such as lounge access and priority services. Which, naturally, improve with each subsequent jump.

However, if you are not near a status threshold, you may prefer double points. Think of them like flexible currency that can be used to book reward flights with Qantas or partner airlines, upgrade to premium cabins when seats are available, or pay for hotel and holiday packages, rather than just helping you qualify for status tiers.

Points don’t expire, either. As long as you remain an active member, you can accumulate them over time and spend them when a good redemption opportunity appears. Whichever you choose, credits or points will arrive in your account within eight weeks after travel.

So as your travel plans unfold over the next year, this promotion from Qantas offers frequent flyers a simple way to make every journey work harder for them.

Whether that’s chasing status or building a stronger points balance, the ‘Twice as Rewarding’ campaign turns regular travel into a more strategic investment for your travel in 2026. Register early, plan wisely, and let each trip bring you closer to better perks. All those trips might start paying for themselves soon enough.
