If you’re looking for Bali accommodation you’re most likely going to come across more than a few luxury villas. While there are plenty of hotels and resorts on the Island of Gods worth checking out, villas are by and large the most popular way for groups and couples to stay in Bali.

Given how frequently Aussies travel to Bali we thought it’d be a good idea to check out some of the best Bali Airbnb homes and list them here so you’re directed to the best and away from the rest. The round-up below is based on both Bali Airbnbs that team BH have stayed at across many years, and some that we just think look great and have plenty of glowing online reviews.

Note that average rates fluctuate regularly. The listed prices are in AUD and are correct at the time of publishing.

What Are The Best Airbnb Homes In Bali?

Nanuku House, Canggu

Nanuka House in Bali is one of the best airbnbs on the island.
Average Rate: $1,258 per night
Address: Villa 8, Gg Eleven Palms, Canggu, Kuta Utara, Badung Regency, Bali 80351
Contact: +62 821 4742 9885
Occupies: 8
Bedrooms: 4
Bathrooms: 5

With enough space for up to eight guests, Nanuku House is an ideal option for larger groups jumping on over to the island for a Bali holiday.

The four-bedroom Bali home is owned and operated by travel influencers Jack Morris (@JackMorris) and Lauren Bullen (@Gypsea_lust), positioned close to the action of Canggu yet still offering plenty of privacy.

Nanuku’s lavish private rooftop sauna is one of the main reasons bookings for Nanuku House are hard to come across but you also have a cold water bath and a villa manager who can arrange on-site massages and private chefs upon request.

Many ex-pats I know who live in, or have lived in, Bali tend to consider Nanuku House the best overall Airbnb rental in Bali. That’s no surprise. It’s in one of the best areas on the island, close to great venues like Mosto and Santanera and the pool area looks perfect for those quieter moments.

Villa Sanglung, North Bali

best airbnbs in bali
Average Rate: $305.23 per night
Address: Depeha, Kubutambahan, Buleleng Regency, Bali 81172, Indonesia
Contact: +62 813 3853 4204
Occupies: 8
Bedrooms: 2
Bathrooms: 3

North Bali is an incredibly underrated, and underdeveloped, part of the island so I was interested to see if there are any great Airbnbs up that way. Fortunately, there are quite a few. This one, Villa Sanglung, stands out mostly due to its commanding view along the peninsula.

The North Balinese villas that I’ve come across have all leaned towards the rustic, authentic style without much sense of luxury. Villa Sanglung looks like an easy exception with its contemporary design framed by a parcel of Bali that you wouldn’t find in modernised parts of the island like Kuta, Seminyak and Canggu.

SunRice Loft, Sidemen

SunRice Loft is one of the best Bali airbnbs.
Average Rate: $121.31 per night
Address: Jl. Wangsean – Klungah, Wismakerta, Kec. Sidemen, Klungah, Bali 80864, Indonesia
Contact: +62 812 4674 7107
Occupies: 2
Bedrooms: 1
Bathrooms: 1

Just two people can fit into this incredibly unique Bali accommodation.

SunRice is located in the middle of a large working field and is one of the most magnificent rice paddy lofts on the island. I’ve passed this one quite a few times before and it’s always occupied, seemingly booked mostly by couples who want to soak up some authentic Bali accommodation. That flat roof on the top looks like the best place to start the morning before having breakfast in the nearby main compound.

Balian Treehouse, Balian Beach

best airbnbs in Bali
Average Rate: $156.35 per night (minimum 2 night stay)
Address: Jl. Pantai Balian No.60, Lalanglinggah, Kec. Selemadeg Bar., Kabupaten Tabanan, Bali 82162, Indonesia
Occupies: 2
Bedrooms: 1
Bathrooms: 1

Balian Treehouse is both secluded and well-connected to a tiny coastal village, surrounded by a small surfing community. You’ll find this one just a stone’s throw from the hidden gem of Balian Beach far up the coast from Canggu and Seminyak.

The treehouse itself is quaint, well-designed and has a very large garden. If you’re looking for an authentic Balinese stay that’s far from the hustle of the main island then you’ll be hard-pressed to find something as perfect for a couple as this beauty.

Villa Mana, Canggu

Villa Mana in Canggu, Bali
Average Rate: $1,798 per night (minimum 2 night stay)
Address: Jl. Raya Babakan Canggu No.5, Canggu, Kec. Kuta Utara, Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80361
Contact: +62 361 737498
Occupies: 10
Bedrooms: 7
Bathrooms: 7

The entire Boss Hunting office worked from Villa Mana for a week at the tail-end of 2022. Not only is it perfectly located just a short drive from the heart of Canggu, but the idyllic Bali home is an epic idea for any bigger groups looking to live it up on the island.

I still remember walking into the sprawling forecourt for the first time. The entire place looks like one of those luxury homes you’d see used on a dating reality show. Across seven bedrooms, most with their open-air en-suite bathroom, you’ll be able to fit around 10 people.

Amenities include a private culinary team who can prepare pretty much anything you want each day and a cosy media room with a pool table. But the real reason to stay here is variety. You’ve got enough private nooks that you can easily get some seclusion in before joining everyone else by the lush 17-metre pool, which offers an expansive view over working rice paddies.

I’m not surprised that Villa Mana is a popular option for anyone looking to get married in Bali.

Villa Selka, North Kuta

Villa Selka is one of the best Bali Airbnbs you can rent.
Average Rate: $300.70 per night (minimum 3 night stay)
Address: Jalan Padang Linjong, 80351 Indonesia
Occupies: 2
Bedrooms: 1
Bathrooms: 1

I don’t think it’s even conscionable to encourage readers to stay in Kuta given the crowd this party-minded area of Bali attracts. Although North Kuta does have its moments, including the award-winning Villa Selka that’s been designed for couples looking for a romantic getaway in Bali.

Some of Bali’s best Airbnb homes are run pretty much like standalone businesses and the owners hold this one to a high standard. The listing promises luxury amenities provided with the rental fee along with in-house massage services, a private pool and a fully-equipped kitchenette.

Besides, it’s only a short distance from Seminyak and Canggu so you don’t just have Kuta to contend with if you want to head on out and check out some of that high-energy Bali nightlife.

Villa Atlantis, Seminyak

Villa Atlantis is one of the best Airbnbs in Bali
Average Rate: $201.17 per night
Address: Gang 4 Jl. Beji Ayu, Seminyak, Kec. Kuta, Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80361, Indonesia
Contact: +62 823 3955 4365
Occupies: 2
Bedrooms: 1
Bathrooms: 1

Villa Atlantis is commonly referenced as one of Airbnb’s most ‘wish-listed’ rental properties in Bali. From the photos alone, it’s not hard to see why. Be warned, though: it’s tough to score a booking here, especially during the high season.

The one-bedroom villa consistently attracts five-star reviews from honeymooners who seem to love the modern minimalist design and smart indoor-outdoor spaces.

You’ve also got the bonus of location. While most of Bali’s best Airbnbs are a bit secluded from the major metropolitan areas, Villa Atlantis is close to the heart of Seminyak. That means major points for food and drink, shopping and nightlife seeing as Seminyak is still very much the cultural hub of Bali.

Camaya Bali Suboya, Selat

What are the best Airbnb homes in Bali?
Average Rate: $754.38 per night (minimum 2 night stay)
Address: Banjar Dinas Pandangaji Kawan Desa Padang Aji Kedesaan, Pering Sari, Kec. Selat, Kabupaten Karangasem, Bali 80862, Indonesia
Contact: +62 813 3945 5740
Occupies: 4
Bedrooms: 1
Bathrooms: 1.5

As one of the best-known Airbnbs on the island, bookings at Camaya Bali Suboya require some planning. This place gets swamped year-round, so you’re looking at reserving dates a few months in advance if you want to stay here.

I’ve never personally stayed in this bamboo house although just about anyone who has been to Bali before would be aware of this. You’ll always find this popping up on social media, best recognised by that massive hammock looking out over the quiet rice terraces with the peak of Mount Agung looming in the distance.

Villa Mimpi, Legian Beach

Villa Minpi in Bali is one of the best Airbnb homes on the island.
Average Rate: $300 per night
Address: Jl Werkudara 531, 80361 Legian, Indonesia
Contact: +61 404 007 663
Occupies: 5
Bedrooms: 3
Bathrooms: 2

You’ll find Villa Mimpi on the outskirts of Kuta, slightly quieter than the notorious party district but still nicely connected to all the action. Up to five people can fit across those three bedrooms, keeping the luxury Bali villa nice and intimate with a generous amount of living space.

Given this villa is part of the larger Rumi Villas collection, guests also can take advantage of the complex’s exclusive Finns Beach Club membership. According to the Airbnb listing, that means if you choose to stay at Villa Mimpi you’ll get access to the entirety of Finns, including the venue’s sports facilities, swimming pools, library and kid’s room.

Hideout Beehive, Selat

Hideout Beehive is one of the best Airbnbs in Bali.
Average Rate: $570.91 per night (minimum 2 night stay)
Address: Jl. Jangu, Duda, Kec. Selat, Kabupaten Karangasem, Bali 80862, Indonesia
Occupies: 4
Bedrooms: 1
Bathrooms: 1

If you’re looking for the best Airbnb homes in Bali then you’ll stumble across more than just a few stunners with unique treehouse-inspired architecture.

Hideout Beehive, part of the Hideout collection, is one such property. You’ll find this wedged into a secluded area of Selat, richly designed as an eco-bamboo home. Although good luck getting in. Like a few other listings on this Bali Airbnbs round-up, you’ll find that this gem gets booked out months in advance.

That’s no surprise based on the visual impact of this property alone. But you also get a comprehensive suite of amenities when staying here, from a free scooter during your stay to a fully-equipped kitchen, modern sound system and outdoor heated pool. Nearby Hideout Bistro also delivers, so you could just cosy up here for two nights and have everything you need without stepping outside.

Cliff Front Luxury Beach Villa, Pandawa Beach

What are the best Bali Airbnb homes?
Average Rate: $1,159.73 (minimum 2 night stay)
Occupies: 8
Bedrooms: 3
Bathrooms: 4

An absolute cliff-front luxury villa maximising views over Bali’s famed Bukit peninsula, this Airbnb is nothing short of epic. You’ll be able to fit up to eight guests across four bedrooms, which, like Villa Mana in Canggu, makes this a pro-choice for bigger groups looking to get away.

Large bedrooms with en-suite bathtubs, looking over the Indian Ocean pretty much says it all. But you’ll also get two private pools, a private drive and a chef who is more than ready to fix up those quintessential Balinese floating breakfasts that have been so popular over the past few years.
