Australia has become the first market globally to taste Glen Grant Arboralis, the latest single malt expression from the renowned Speyside distillery.

Local media enjoyed a virtual tasting (with complementing snacks) of Arboralis on the eve of the launch with Glen Grant Master Distiller Dennis Malcolm – a 60 year veteran of the whisky industry – and leading whisk(e)y expert Robin Coupar.

Aged in former bourbon and sherry oak, the name Arboralis means ‘light from within the trees’ and is derived from the casks sheltered by ancient trees that line the Victorian gardens of The Glen Grant Distillery.

The Arboralis liquid is a testament to the distillery’s proficiency at creating interesting, refined and affordable drams. The bright gold nectar boasts a complex array of of dried fruit flavours, especially apricot, with a pleasant amount of buttery oak and spice, brought to life with just a few drops of water. While the Arboralis is a no age statement whisky, Malcolm confirmed the liquid within is roughly a decade old.

The vibrant character of Arboralis sets it apart from the brand’s well regarded existing portfolio and showcases an exciting new chapter for Glen Grant.

The Glen Grant Arboralis is available from liquor retail outlets for RRP $60.99. Head to glengrant.com.
