After a ten year sabbatical from acting, Clint Eastwood has returned to being in front of the camera. And by the looks of this first trailer, it’ll be worth the wait.

The Mule is based on a true story, and will see Eastwood portray Earl Stone. An (age appropriate) 88 year old who moonlights as a drug runner for the Mexican cartel. Though that appears to be of some advantage on occasions rather than being an outright handicap.

Stone’s underlying motivation behind actively participating in such a dangerous side hustle is hinted to be family related Ã  la Walter White in Breaking Bad. Unlike Heisenberg, however, Stone seems to know when to tap out. Hence why his next job will be his last (as they always are).

Reuniting for the first time since their collaboration on American Sniper, Bradley Cooper will co-star as the DEA agent hot on both Stone and the cartel’s tail. Additionally, Michael Pena, Laurence Fishburne, Dianne Wiest, and Andy Garcia will be lending their acting talents to the cast. Eastwood will also be directing this one, so don’t worry. The project’s in safe hands.

The Mule hits theatres December 14th. Check out the full trailer above.
