For some reason, we’re only receiving the first trailer for Lamborghini: The Man Behind The Legend now, just a little under two weeks from its theatrical release. Whether the disturbing lack of marketing support and half-assed preview is any indication of the upcoming flick’s actual quality… it’s too soon to say (we’ve incorrectly judged books by their covers both ways before).

What we do know for certain is that either way, the forthcoming biopic will serve as solid warm-up viewing while the world waits for Michael Mann’s Ferrari starring Adam Driver and Penelope Cruz (read more: here).

Led by king of the B-movies Frank Grillo as Ferruccio Lamborghini and Gabriel Byrne as Enzo Ferrari, Lamborghini: The Man Behind The Legend follows the storied life of the eponymous entrepreneur – “From the manufacturing of tractors at the start of his career to creating military vehicles during World War II, and then on to designing and building the Lamborghini cars that ultimately defined his profound legacy.”

Initially, Antonio Banderas and Alec Baldwin had signed on to portray an adult Lamborghini and Enzo Ferrari, respectively. Due to scheduling conflicts and whatnot, however, both of the aforementioned heavy hitters were forced to drop out. Grillo and Byrne are joined by Mira Sorvino, Fortunato Cerlino, Giorgio Cantarini, Eliana Jones, as well as Romano Reggiani, who portrays a young Ferruccio Lamborghini.

The Academy Award-winning Robert Moresco of Crash fame has penned the screenplay, which is an adaptation of the biography written by Lamborghini’s own son Tonino: Ferruccio Lamborghini. La storia ufficiale. Moresco has also directed this time around.

As for a release date, Lamborghini: The Man Behind The Legend hits select theatres on November 18th of 2022. Although we wouldn’t be surprised if this one ends up on streaming platforms well before Christmas.
