Thereโs a high probability many of you reading this either donโt know what a Walkman is, or if you do, youโve never owned one. Well nowโs your chance to experience listening to music like your parents did with the release of Sonyโs NW-A100TPS Walkman.
Created to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the iconic portable tape player, this new version looks almost identical to the original TPS-L2 Walkman and even includes a fake cassette that looks like itโs playing tunes.

As itโs now 2019 and not 1979, this updated Walkman comes with a tonne of modern features to keep the young folk happy.
Powered by Android, the revamped Walkman has a 26-hour battery life, 16GB storage, 3.6 inch HD touchscreen, USB-C charging, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity and an S-Master HX digital amplifier for high-resolution audio. A particularly neat feature to keep old-timers happy is the addition of a vinyl processor, which allows tracks to sound like theyโre being spun on a turntable.
There are set to be two versions released; the limited edition NW-A100TPS featuring the 40th-anniversary logo and packaging, as well as the cheaper NW-A105 without the extra commemorative details.
Both of Sonyโs nostalgic Walkmans will hit shelves later this year. Visit sony.com to find more details about the productโs price and release date.
