In its first event for 2021, Apple has unveiled a range of new offerings that’ll surely find a home with every diehard fan. From additional colourways of existing products to long-rumoured tech, here are the highlights from the ‘Spring Loaded’ affair.

Apple Event 2021 “Spring Loaded” Product Announcements

iMac

Release date: April 30th
Price: $1,899 (starting)

The headline reveal is, of course, the new iMac, available in an entire spectrum of eye-catching colours. Housing Apple’s own M1 processor chip, it flaunts a gorgeously thin form factor measuring to just 11.5mm, 24-inch Truetone display, while reportedly making next to zero noise thanks to its twin fans (in place of the usual thermal system). The all-in-one computer features a total of six stereo speakers coupled with “advanced algorithms to deliver spatial audio” in Dolby Atmos; as well a 1080P FaceTime camera.

iPad Pro

The latest iteration of the iPad Pro is yet another device which will house a proprietary M1 processor chip. Effectively, performance has been boosted by a considerable margin (50% better than the previous iPad Pro, to be exact). The new iPad Pro will also be 5G enabled for better connectivity, as well as providing the following:

  • USB-4 support
  • 2x faster storage access
  • 12MP ultra-wide front camera
  • “Centre Stage” function – helps track location during video calls
  • Improved screen experience

iPhone 12

Apple AirTag

Release date: April 30th
Price: $45 (single), $149 (four)

Similar to Samsung’s SmartTag and Tile Bluetooth trackers, the Apple AirTag leverages “Find My” software, allowing you to locate whatever you’ve misplaced from your iPhone with pinpoint accuracy. When something is outside of iPhone range, items are marked lost, triggering millions of other iPhone users to anonymously form a “search party” and help you recover it.

Apple TV 4K
