Dior and Air Jordan have revealed the full extent of their upcoming collaboration – and at the centrepiece stands the Dior x Air Jordan 1 sneakers. A fresh new offering that not only redefines what streetwear can be; but casts a whole new light of legitimacy upon it.

As part of an exclusive ready-to-wear collection, the Air Jordan 1 Dior will appear in both “High” and “Low”, boasting of a tastefully minimalist colour palette which includes the iconic Dior grey. Put it all together with Air Jordan’s signature bold contours, and you have yourself a winning combination.

You’ll notice at a first glance, however, that Dior’s sartorial fingerprint on this collaboration goes beyond the colourway, logo, and name emblazoned everywhere from the sole to the tongue.

Leveraging what has traditionally been a strength of theirs when it comes to crafting leather goods, this is very much an Italian-made sneaker that elevates itself from above the bog-standard limited drops.

“I love mixing together different worlds, different ideas – Jordan Brand and Dior are both emblematic of absolute excellence in their fields,” says Dior men’s collections Artistic Director, Kim Jones.

“To bring them together in this special collaboration is to propose something exciting and truly new.”

The Air Jordan 1 High OG Dior will be limited to 8,500 pairs, while the even rarer Air Jordan 1 Low Dior will be limited to just 4,700. Currently, the rumours are reporting the High will cost around US$2,000 a pair.

In terms of availability, the Air Jordan 1 Dior sneakers – as well as the rest of the Dior x Air Jordan collection – will hit select locations starting April of 2020.
