If you’d ever suspected that running a brewery is the best job in the world, the team at Gage Roads Brew Co are once again proving you correct. Following up from the epic giveaway of a restored vintage Toyota LandCruiser and bringing pro surfer Jack Robinson into the inner sanctum, the Gage Roads crew has recently announced the expansion of its surf team and the release of the Fins & Tins: A Gage Roads Brew Co Adventure surf film.

The short film was produced in partnership with Jacob Wooden of Woodrow Media and tracks the adventures of the Gage Roads Brew Co surf team just a year after it was formed. As a brewery founded with love for the ocean, you can watch Brenden “Margo” Margieson, McKenzie “Mac” Bowden, and Ellie “El” Brooks free surf their way back to Gage Roads’ origins.

“Surf culture has always been such a big part of who we are,” explains Gage Roads Brew Co Gage Head Frother (otherwise known as executive director) Aaron Heary. “It first inspired the culture of the brewery and now it comes through in almost everything we do.”

The team has also recently grown to include professional surfers Jacob Wilcox and Bronte Macaulay who will remain part of the fabric of the Gage Roads Brew Co unit as freshly-inked part-owners.

As a little background, Margaret River-born Jacob Willcox finished the World Surfing League (WSL) 2023 Challenger Series in third place overall, and will continue his run of good form in the Championship Tour in 2024. Bronte Macaulay also hails from the southwest of Western Australia and recently took out first place in the WSL 2023 Challenger Series.

“It started off as sponsoring a few events, like the whalebone classic in Perth and the Burleigh Single Fin on the Gold Coast. Now we sponsor a whole bunch, like the Byron Bay Surf Fest and Noosa Surf Fest. And we’ve got our own team of surfers. I’m stoked we’ll be adding to that with Jacob and Bronte now coming on and taking shares in the business. They’re both absolute legends!”.
