Want a free beer? A foolish question, of course, but we just needed to make sure before we tell you about The Starward Shout.

First, you need to know that this is exactly what it sounds like. Melbourne’s Starward Whisky, the world’s most-awarded distillery of last year, wants to shout you an easy-earned, well-deserved brew to celebrate World Whisky Day this Saturday 20 May.

The Starward Shout will showcase the art of the boilermaker ahead of the hotly anticipated launch of Starward’s new Stout Cask Single Malt Whisky, which is unlike anything the crew has produced before. Yet, it was an inevitability for the team, seeing as many ex-brewers work at Starward and, honestly, who doesn’t love a good boilermaker?

We certainly do and are willing to bet you do too, which is why The Starward Shout is such a compelling offering. All you’ve got to do is rock up to any participating venue across Australia on World Whisky Day, May 20, order up a nip of Stout Cask Single Malt Whisky and you’ll get a complimentary Stout beer to go with it.

From there, the choice is yours. Either sip separately or enjoy together for the perfect boilermaker. Guaranteed to knock your socks off, lifted by the whisky’s vanilla and tropical fruit flavours, rounded out with a chocolatey finish.

Starward’s Stout Cask single malt was made using hand-selected mature whisky from Starward’s signature red wine and small format Apera barrels, finished for a further 18 months in barrels from Brick Lane’s acclaimed ‘Trilogy of Fear’ imperial stout series. The result? Well, you’ll be able to taste it for yourself as the following Australian bars offer the drop this World Whisky Day.
