American real estate mogul, art collector, and the “uncrowned King of Las Vegas” – Steve Wynn – made his fortune during the world gambling capital’s renaissance towards the second half of the 20th century. Playing a pivotal role in the famed Vegas Strip’s expansion, the man has practically shaped modern-day Las Vegas by his own hand; counting the construction and operation of such icons as the Mirage, the Bellagio, as well as Wynn Resorts as achievements on his legendary CV. So it shouldn’t be a surprise that someone like Steve Wynn – a man who has raked in billions thanks to vices – knows a thing or two about comfort, as made very clear by the existence of his US$135 million (AU$192.7 million) Beverly Hills mansion, which is currently listed on the market for sale.

Designed by architect William Hablinski in the early 90s, this Benedict Canyon abode was initially purchased by Wynn back in 2015 for around US$48 million; and has undergone extensive remodelling and renovations ever since (hence the tidy price bump). The revised interior decor has been accomplished by Wynn Resorts talent Roger Thomas, while the landscaping owes its immaculate form to one Robert Truskowski.

Hidden away from prying eyes on the street front, the main house is “secreted” down a private cul-de-sac shared with three other homes. Accessible by a private gated driveway that winds upwards around an expansive grassy lawn before greeting residents and visitors alike with an equally expansive motor court, if you had to describe this mansion with one word, it’d be: scale. And given the property’s sheer scale, full-time domestic staff and private security team are actually required to keep things running smoothly. Thankfully, personnel have been accounted for in the onsite amenities.

Wynn’s real estate portfolio, however, won’t be any less impressive after he manages to offload this particular pad. According to Dirt, the ageing businessman owns several other homes of a similar calibre all across the US – a mansion overlooking country club greens in Las Vegas… a penthouse on top of the Ritz-Carlton in New York (US$70 million)… a 25,000-square feet “mega-compound of a ski chalet” in Sun Valley, Idaho… an oceanfront estate in Palm Beach, Flordia (US$43 million)… and most notably, the 302-foot superyacht ‘Aquarius’ which has often been referred to as a floating mansion (US$215 million).
