Despite promising fans that he wanted to, “finish my career at the top, with dignity, in a big club,” Cristiano Ronaldo’s centimillion dollar deal to play for Al-Nassr FC in Saudi Arabia means his Madrid mansion has been empty and rent-free for the last few months. Until now.

The Portuguese superstar footballer originally purchased the home after leaving Manchester United in 2009 for ÂŁ4.8 million (AU$8.6 million), located in the upmarket La Finca neighbourhood and designed by architect Joaquin Torres who has designed a number of residences for Real Madrid players. More recently, the home has been extensively celebrated through two seasons of I am Georgina, a Netflix original series about the life of Ronaldo’s girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez.

“The first time I came to Cristiano’s house, well I’d get lost,” Rodriguez said about the home. “I’d want to go to the kitchen to get water and I’d no idea where to go. Sometimes it would take me half an hour to get to the living room because I didn’t know the way back. It was so big […] I think after half a year here, I was able to know where everything was and it was okay.”

Massive it is, with nearly 4,000m² of floorspace and a total of seven bedrooms, as well as no less than nine bathrooms. If that wasn’t enough, the home also contains two swimming pools and an outdoor jacuzzi, with a massive basement garage to host some of Ronaldo’s significant car collection (even if the collection has shrunk in the last year).

While Ronaldo’s contract with Al-Nassr FC is reportedly worth US$200 million (AU$297.5 million), there’s no point leaving such a palatial property empty and the footballer has put the property on the market for €10,000 (AU$16,381) per month in rent. After all, if he’s not finishing his career at the top by his own definition, Cristiano Ronaldo might as well rent out his mansion for some pocket money.
