German kings of custom – Brabus – have upped the ante with its Shadow 900 Black Ops Signature Edition.

Imbuing everything we loved about a certain speedboat released circa 2020 into an Axopar XC Cross-Cabin base, the most striking element about the Signature Edition is obviously the menacing Brabus Graphite Black paint job complemented by red accents; accompanied by sleek, Brabus masterpiece badges on the hull in black chrome.

“The edition is hand built with focus on precision and finish, the process of fairing, painting and polishing alone takes up to six weeks due to non-automated, thorough and highly labour-intensive procedures,” Brabus explains of its bespoke craftmanship.

But you’d be mistaken in thinking we’re getting all hot and bothered solely because of the paint job. Although full disclosure: it played a major part in capturing our attention. Blending premium luxury and performance in a single, stylish package, there’s certainly more to the Brabus Shadow 900 Black Ops Signature Edition than meets the eye.

In terms of the niceties, the Signature Edition features a Sun Lounge which offers next-level comfort and an expanded social space on the front deck. This 38-foot beauty of a sea vessel can be equipped with one of four different aft deck options, from a wet bar designed for wetting your whistle to extra storage for your fishing supplies.

You can also expect the following:

  • Raised seating for seven passengers in the cockpit
  • Sliding electrical sun-roof
  • Two large sliding doors
  • Dual touchscreen Glass Helm Information Display w/ latest Brabus User Interface (incl. G-shock monitoring, navigation, engine management, onboard entertainment, driving-assist features)

Additionally, a G-Shock sensor and 1st Mate Marine Safety & Security System have been installed to ensure the boat’s safety and security, as well as help out the would-be captain navigate rough weather conditions.

In terms of performance, the Brabus Shadow 900 Black Ops Signature Edition can achieve a top speed of 102 km/h (55 knots), a typical cruising speed of approximately 92 km/h (40 knots), with a total power output of 662kW (900 HP) thanks to Mercury Marine’s latest dual 450R Verado XL 4.6 litre V8 FourStroke engines. The fuel capacity is 730 litres.

“No restrictions, no limits – just like a well-designed, luxurious, high-performance 4×4 for the road, the all-weather capable Shadow 900 XC Cross Cabin is an ultra-luxurious sports utility vehicle made for the sea.”
