When you’ve spent more than four decades as a yacht dealer, it’s safe to say you might know a thing or two about what separates the good boats from the bad. This is exactly why yacht dealer Bas Lengers established his own boatbuilding operation called Stratos, which has just announced its debut vessel in the Dutch Built 50 that claims to be the most unsinkable yacht in its class today.

The Lengers family established the eponymously named Lengers Yachts back in 1970, and the dealership is now managed by Bas who is the third generation of the family to do so. As authorised dealers of Sanlorenzo, Bluegame, Prestige, and Sacs yachting companies, there isn’t much that Lengers hasn’t seen during his time in the industry, which has given him invaluable insights into what yacht buyers are looking for and how to satisfy those demands.

It’s these insights that led him to start Stratos and create the patriotically named Dutch Built 50, which looks to set a new benchmark for seaworthiness in the 50ft class, with Lengers stating, “I can say with complete confidence that the Stratos Dutch Built 50 is the most seaworthy vessel in its class.” This level of conviction doesn’t exist in a vacuum, but is the result of the painstaking and meticulous process the Dutch Built 50 was created via as the team sought to optimise for performance and functionality.

“I felt the 50 ft category needed a tough, resiliently robust vessel, one that is truly seaworthy and built to superyacht standards,” explained Stratos founder Bas Lengers. “A yacht that could cruise with ease even in the toughest of weather conditions: an SUV on water.”

This is exactly what the Dutch Built 50 offers, with a special hull created from dense high-end composite materials and a superstructure from lightweight carbon that both serve to keep the centre of gravity very low in the water. This design saw the yacht awarded a CE class A rating that confirms seaworthiness in 4m waves and winds of up to Beaufort Force 8, all with a range of between 640kms and 730kms and a top speed of 36 knots.

The Dutch Built 50 will be available in no less than 25 different colour options (both metallic and nonmetallic) for clients to select from, with the customizability extending into the interior of the yacht too. Clients can also pick from several different lounge cushion colours and teak tones, with three different colour schemes to pick from for the interior, as well as additional bespoke hardware options including a hydraulic submersible swim platform.

If your nearest harbour is known for its rough waves and challenging weather conditions, the Stratos Dutch Built 50 was made for you.
