While the Italian shipyard WiLder is best known for its 50m+ superyachts, the boatbuilder has recently announced its first foray into the world of more modestly sized cruisers with the 18.6m WiLder 60 chase boat. Despite its reduced length, no detail has been overlooked in the new aluminium hull vessel which has been designed for shallow water landing as well as to handle choppier conditions out in deep water.

As the first model within an entirely new line for WiLder, the 60 delivers a wind-whipping top speed of 40 knots and a shallow draft of 1.05m to allow owners to anchor right on the beach. It will also arrive as a platform that will be heavily customisable, so as to make each example almost a unique project that can be tailored to the individual wants and needs of the client.

“The WiLder 60 is more than just a boat – it is a bespoke statement of intent for secret escapes or wild weekends, a celebration of life and a conduit for fun,” said boss Marcello Maggi in a statement. “Tailor-made and turned with artisanal excellence, it embodies the exceptional nature of superyachting and offers exceptional experiences for its owners. It represents another ground-breaking step forward by Wider, which from its foundation has always sought to challenge the status quo with sometimes radical but always forward-thinking designs and solutions.”

According to WiLder, the first example of the WiLder 60 is already being constructed and will be first launched in time for the northern hemisphere summer of 2023.
