  • In celebration of Batman Day, Uber is offering free Batmobile rides in late September.
  • Limited trips will be bookable in Sydney & Adelaide’s CBDs across two sets of weekends.
  • While it won’t cost you a cent, it is on a “first come, first served” basis (so expect plenty of demand).

Whether you’re five or 50, “It’d be cool to ride in the Batmobile” is one of those inexplicable obsessions that perennially stays with men — like the Roman Empire, picking up a cool stick that resembles a sword, or the desire to watch heavy machinery at construction sites.

That’s probably why to celebrate the upcoming Batman Day (September 21st), Uber has teamed up with DC Comics and Warner Bros to help make this dream a reality.

Over two days in Sydney, and then two days in Adelaide the following week, you’ll be able to book an Uber ride in a fan-built Batmobile, based on the design from Tim Burton’s Batman films.

These trips will be limited to a five-kilometre radius of the respective cities’ CBDs and just one passenger at a time. And while it’ll be completely free, considering this is going down in both Sydney and Adelaide during weekends… we anticipate some stiff competition when it comes to requesting.

Here’s when you’ll be able to book a Batmobile trip via Uber:

  • Sydney
Friday, September 20th to Saturday, September 21st — between 11 AM and 3 PM (AEST)
  • Adelaide
Friday, September 27th to Saturday, September 28th — between 11 AM and 3 PM (ACST)
