Ducati’s New Streetfighter V4 SP Serves Up $50,000 Worth Of Thrills

— Updated on 29 November 2021

Ducati is no stranger to the notion of taking a superbike and producing a naked-bike variant. Coming in at around $49,000, the Ducati Streetfighter V4 SP is nearly double the price of the base-model Streetfighter V4 and offers you light steering, crazy acceleration, and absolutely zero wind protection.

The combination of world-class superbike power and a more upright riding position can offer an intoxicating – albeit exhausting – experience when fully enjoyed. As if the Ducati Streetfighter V4 S was not already eye-wateringly fast, the SP is a machine that is designed with the sole intention of sending adrenaline through your body.

The V4 SP uses the same 1,103cc Desmosedici Stradale engine as the Panigale V4 S. Combined with a power plant featuring a counter-rotating crankshaft, the naked bike is able to attain an insane 208 hp.

The SP is also graced with the BST carbon fibre wheels that fans of their Superleggera V4 are sure to recognise. These contribute to the bike’s lighter turning, faster acceleration and shorter braking distances compared to the other model variants.

The bike also comes equipped with a race-spec STM dry slipper clutch, the latest-generation Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 electronics for the TTX36 shock and NIX-30 fork, radially mounted Brembo Stylema R four-piston brake callipers, carbon-fibre bits—such as wings and mudguards—as well as CNC-machined footpegs and a lithium-ion battery. And the beast comes in a special black, red and silver “Winter Test” livery in the same style as the Panigale V4 SP.

Along with this SP version of the Streetfighter V4, Ducati has also just released the junior Streetfighter V2. Since Ducati probably won’t come out with a Streetfighter V4 R, this V4 SP will likely remain the most exclusive Ducati naked bike that money can buy.
