  • Klein Vision’s AirCar is scheduled to become available for purchase in 2026.
  • Featuring folding wings and a retractable tail, it’s capable of changing from a street-legal car to a certified aircraft in around two minutes.
  • While pricing remains TBC, it’s expected to cost between US$800,000 and US$1.2 million (AU$1.2 million and AU$1.9 million).

Klein Vision is poised to usher in a new era of personal mobility with its AirCar, which can transform from car to aircraft in approximately two minutes.

The latest prototype was unveiled recently at the Living Legends of Aviation Gala Dinner in Beverly Hills, with designer Štefan Klein receiving the Special Recognition Award for Engineering Excellence. Having logged over 170 flight hours, plus upwards of 500 successful takeoffs and landings, the AirCar isn’t just a concept – it’s a proven mode of transportation.

“Receiving this recognition from the Living Legends of Aviation is a tremendous honour and a humbling milestone,” said Štefan Klein in a statement. “The AirCar fulfils a lifelong dream to bring the freedom of flight into the hands of everyday people.”

Built in Slovakia, the AirCar melds advanced aerodynamics with lightweight composite structures and a robust 206kW engine. On the road, it looks and feels like a sleek sports car, but at the push of a button, it can extend its wings and transform into a fully functional aircraft. It’s reportedly so intuitive, most pilots only need minutes for training.

“The AirCar is a fusion of certified aviation engineering and advanced automotive design – a true dual-mode vehicle that meets rigorous standards in both air and ground performance,” said AirCar co-founder Anton Zajac.

“With global air mobility projected to reach $162 billion by 2034 and growing at over 50% CAGR, we believe the production prototype we are unveiling this year positions Klein Vision at the forefront of this transformation.”

By marrying automotive convenience with aviation capability, Klein Vision offers a glimpse into the future of travel where people aren’t bound by roads alone. When it officially lands in early 2026, the AirCar promises the dawn of a new age in personal transport.
