We can’t think of a more powerful partnership in the sporting landscape. Just yesterday, Dutch watch brand TW Steel announced its official timekeeping partnership with Australian Supercar powerhouse Red Bull Holden Racing.

To celebrate the partnership, TW Steel have honoured the announcement with the simultaneous release of two limited edition timepieces, both encapsulating the wicked brand symmetry Red Bull and TW Steel share.

The Red Bull Holden Racing Team Limited Edition is a spinoff from their CEO Adesso collection watch, featuring a 45mm steel case with a crown cap construction for a more intuitive feel on the wrist. The extremely limited 88 piece production for this timepiece will satisfy those racing fanatics after their own slice of sporting partnership history.

A slightly larger, 48 mm housing for the Special Edition is a modified variant of the Volante collection, sporting traditional Red Bull livery. The genuine carbon dial is impressively emblazoned with the Red Bull Holden Racing Team logo, as is the case back.

When chatting about the synergies shared between the brands at the announcement yesterday morning, TW Steel Managing Director Phil Edwards said,

“They’re champions, they strive for the best, they strive for perfection – and that’s what TW Steel strives for. They’re not at all interested in second place. The TW Steel brand is all about the very bold, strong and tightly engineered watch, and we see the same characteristics with the Red Bull Holden Racing team.”

Red Bull Holden Supercar driver Shane van Gisbergen shared similar thoughts. “Time means everything in racing, right down to the tenth of a second. We’re always pushing these limits so to have TW Steel as a partner of our team is a perfect fit.”

His teammate, Jamie Whincup, also echoed his statement, and weighed in on this weekend’s upcoming race at Sydney Motorsport Park.

“We had some good results here last year, although that doesn’t guarantee anything, but we’ve had some good results in the last couple of rounds. We’re looking forward to putting our heads down and coming away with a desired finish.”

The Red Bull Holden Racing Team Limited Edition will retail for $599 AUD and the Special
Edition will retail for $399 AUD.
