Drake (AKA patron saint of crooning rappers) is no stranger to all the agony and ecstasy that usually accompanies the process of โgetting a fit off.โ
In his personal quest to remain firmly at the top of the style sweepstakes โ in a recording career that has lasted for the better part of 15 years โ the multi-platinum artist has tried his hand at just about every fashion flex on the internet.
That includes, in no particular ranked order: novelty dog masks; vintage leather jackets from Yohji Yamamotoโs Fall 1991 collection; shearling Loewe boots (in summer); and now, knit shirting from none other than Commas โ the Sydney-based resortwear label founded in 2017.

Earlier this month, through the (admittedly flighty) medium of Instagram Stories, the For All The Dogs rapper can be seen, mid-fit-check, wearing an oversized topcoat in tweed, tailored trousers, suitably slouchy boots, and Commasโ โSea Foamโ polo.
Predictably, the overzealousness of the Drake fanbase means that the piece is currently sold out in 5/6 sizes on the Commas website (though you might also have a shot at nabbing stock domestically via David Jones).
That an artist of Drakeโs calibre (and means) has co-signed an indie outfit like Commas is symbolic of menswearโs status quo in 2024. A critically well-liked brand in Australia โ which hasnโt necessarily reached a point of global saturation โ Commas hasnโt been doing anything revolutionary since its establishment seven years ago.
And thatโs kind of the point.
The relaxed fit of this knit ecru number has naturally evolved out of all the swimwear and block-print shirting that made Commas such an insiderโs favourite in the first place.
Drake, the internetโs favourite human meme, mightnโt necessarily have all that context: but itโs clear that this garment (essentially a very well-made piece of basic shirting) will help him surf a universe of mutable trends. Assuming Commas ever restocks the thing โ you can too.
