  • The Off-Bike* collection from MAAP translates the label’s long-celebrated designs and premium quality into a streetwear capsule for everyday wear.
  • Comprising track-style hoodies and pants, vests, overshirts, and even a technical scarf, the Off-Bike* collection promises comfortable kit between rides.
  • Prices range from $30 to $265, and the entire collection is currently available from both MAAP stores and online.

Melbourne-founded cycling label MAAP made a name for itself as one of Australia’s premium producers of cycling clothing. But increasingly, it’s turning its attention away from skin-tight Lycra.

The latest collection from the brand is the Off-Bike* range, which introduces the same text-heavy design motifs and quiet-cool ethos to a streetwear drop, offering fans something to wear when they’re not banking kilometres on Strava. “Premium casual” done right.

For those of you who haven’t come across MAAP before, it’s one of the hottest names in cycling right now; having built a cult following over the last decade that’s culminated in kitting out the Tour de France-riding Team Jayco AlUla. As part of this deal, MAAP also provides apparel for other GreenEDGE Cycling rosters, including Liv AlUla Jayco and the Liv AlUla Jayco Continental Team.

While the label’s bread and butter is cycling clothing for serious road cyclists, its focus on looser-fitting garments has steadily grown. From the casual, adventure-focused Alt_Road collection we featured in B.H. Magazine, to the Off-Bike* range that’s designed for the cafe, MAAP is currently on the path to becoming a full-blown lifestyle brand.

“Lycra is the beginning, but we want to be a household lifestyle brand that everyone knows about,” MAAP Co-Founder Jarrad Smith told me in a 2022 interview. “Alt_Road was the first transition for us, to be our first non-pure road racing-specific apparel.”

The Off-Bike* collection is another step towards Smith’s long-term vision for MAAP: garments for cyclists and other casual athletes that are well-made and look good, while retaining the function-meets-form DNA that’s been present in the brand since 2014.

Featuring basics like t-shirts, hoodies, and caps, the Off-Bike* line-up also includes a few more interesting pieces, including a puffer scarf (promising “optimal warmth-to-weight”) and vests with Teijin Octa insulation.

Available in the brand’s signature pastel tones (i.e. black, beige, olive green, dusty pink), prices range from $30 for the Essential Print Socks to $265 for the Transit Insulated Crew shirt. Shop the Off-Bike* collection now either at MAAP stores or online.
