After the typical rumour mill that churned out whispers about a possible link-up, Burberry and Supreme have unveiled their Spring/Summer 2022 collaboration this week, to a very positive reception. The luxury English outerwear specialist and New York-founded skatewear brand might not seem like immediately obvious collaborators, but once you dig into the collection, you’ll see an unlikely match made in heaven.

A relatively quiet start to the year for Burberry has recently contrasted Supreme’s relentless pace. The skate brand dropped an entire Spring/Summer 2022 collection that featured everything from an Airstream camping trailer to water guns, as well as their expected fare of street styles.

However, just because Supreme’s latest full collection comprised of dozens of different garments and accessories, doesn’t mean they didn’t keep some gas in the collaborative tank. The collection with Burberry is quintessential of both brands, despite the apparent gulf that exists between the two brands aesthetically, with a thoughtful blend of new cuts and iconic patterns.

The collection is focused in scope, featuring only a few styles for various different garments. Each piece within the collection is somewhat an exercise in restraint, with both brands allowing a select number of design cues doing the majority of the talking.

Including the outerwear staples that you might anticipate from Burberry, the collection offers a range of trench coats, down puffer jackets, denim trucker jackets and even leather track jackets. In addition, the collection also includes silk pyjama sets, rugby jumpers, jeans, t-shirts, and more.

The Supreme and Burberry collaboration is set to be available in Australia from March 12th, with styles being variously available from both brands’ sites. With Burberry’s signature check pattern and Supreme’s universally comfortable cuts, this one won’t last long.
