Tudor is a fan favourite watchmaker, both for its rich history and heritage-inspired designs, but also its value-packed offering that means anyone can obtain a truly great watch on their wrist without breaking the bank. For the Tudor collection in 2023, the brand served up more of what collectors and everyday enthusiasts want with extensions to the Black Bay line and upgrades to their movements, a new dial for the GMT, as well as a new reference in the Black Bay 54 (a nod to he first-ever dive watch from Tudor released in 1954).

Highlights From The 2023 Tudor Collection

Tudor is one of the best in the world when it comes to making heritage-inspired watches that are exactly what collectors want. They did it with the Black Bay Fifty-Eight in 2018 and they’ve done it again with the all-new Black Bay 54, which takes its design cues from the 1954 reference 7922.

Featuring a historically accurate 37mm stainless steel case size and an appealingly slender 11.24mm in thickness, it’s pared back in all the best ways, with a smaller dial and no date window, as well as domed sapphire crystal over the dial and 200m of water resistance. Tudor has been stepping up its movements this year and the Black Bay 54 arrives powered by the Manufacture Calibre MT5400 (COSC) with 70 hours of power reserve, as well as your choice of a steel bracelet or rubber strap that both have micro-adjustable clasps.

Tudor Black Bay GMT “Opaline”

The Tudor Black Bay was the other stand-out release in 2018 when it was first announced (alongside the Black Bay Fifty-Eight), with its dark dial and iconic blue and red bezel. After half a decade, it’s time for an update and Tudor has another classic on its hands with the debut of the Tudor Black Bay GMT “Opaline” which trades the dark dial for a silvery white dial.

There isn’t much cosmetic change here beyond the dial tone, meaning the 41mm steel case remains the same as does the matching bracelet (and the option of a fabric strap), but the watch also features 200m of water resistance and the same anodised aluminium bezel. Powered by the Manufacture Calibre MT5652 (COSC) movement with 70 hours of power reserve, there’s a new hot travel watch on the block. Price: $6,090

Tudor Black Bay 41 “Burgundy”

Another refinement in style by Tudor, the very first Black Bay model from 2015 has seen a refresh with this Tudor Black Bay 41mm “Burgundy” that now arrives with a number of different strap and bracelet options as well as a remarkable new movement. The bracelet options include a three-link or five-link steel choice, and both have the micro-adjustable T-fit clasp that’s one of the better bracelets on the market at this price point.

The movement is a real step up, however, with this warmly toned Black Bay now powered by the Manufacture Calibre MT5602-U movement within is a Master Chronometer-certified by METAS. Antimagnetic up to 15,000 gausses, incredibly accurate and delivering 70 hours of power reserve, it’s a great upgrade to the original Black Bay design. Price: $6,340
