As the newly-appointed ambassador for Switzerland Tourism, 20-time Grand Slam champion – Roger Federer – has enlisted the help of iconic New Yorker – Robert De Niro – to create what is intended to be a viral ad. In the promotional video initially posted by the tennis superstar himself, Feds can be seen answering a call from De Niro against the picturesque backdrop of a sun soaked Zermatt villa with a brief cameo from the Matterhorn, before the unlikely duo have a tongue-in-cheek exchange about how Switzerland is “too perfect.”

“Roger, I’m a certain type of actor. I need conflict… Jeopardy,” says The Irishman actor.

“OK, how about the two of us on this special mission?” responds Federer.

“We ski down the slope, we even go sky diving, and we land on these fields where the cows are grazing.”

At the risk of spoiling what you’re about to witness firsthand anyways, the video ends with De Niro backing out of the proposal and suggesting a certain actor renowned for being rather milquetoast as his replacement.

“I am a huge fan of [De Niro’s], so I couldn’t believe he said yes to the campaign,” Federer tells Condé Nast Traveller

“I think a lot of people underestimate the mountains as a good place to go [in the summer]. I live in the mountains, so I love the summer as much as I love the winters, because we have something like 65,000 kilometres of hiking trails in Switzerland and it’s also amazing for biking.”
