From the team behind universally beloved resort Qualia comes The Sundays — a new luxe boutique escape nestled amongst the palms of Catseye Beach that, as the name suggests, encapsulates everything we love about the more relaxed half of the weekend.

“Sunday: a day that takes forever to arrive and is over far too soon. But it’s that fleeting feeling that makes Sunday so special,” explains the forthcoming hotel’s marketing materials.

“While your time here may not last forever, the feeling it inspires will.”

Featuring 59 suites designed with families in mind (interconnecting rooms and all), from the colour palette to the choice of balcony or terrace overlooking the Coral Sea, serenity is the name of the game here.

The easy-breezy accommodation will most notably be complemented by the inclusion of an al fresco waterfront restaurant and bar where guests can drink in Catseye Bay’s famously crystalline water; private cabanas surrounding the pool; as well as the lush surrounds of Hamilton Island itself.

“It will be a place where you can expect an extraordinary experience for all ages amidst the breathtaking natural beauty of The Whitsundays in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef,” said Pete Brulisauer, CEO of Hamilton Island.

“We were inspired by the essence of what makes a Sunday so special — relaxing, treasuring time, and fostering connections with loved ones and embracing nature.”

The Sundays in Hamilton Island is scheduled to open its doors in early 2025 with bookings available from late 2024. Find out more below.
