PlayStation Plus Is Free This Weekend, Just In Time For ‘FIFA22’

— 1 October 2021

As I’m sure many would agree, the amount of dialogue surrounding lockdowns over the past however long has gotten pretty exhausting. That being said, one of the positives from our time inside is the fact 4.5 million Australians have apparently turned to online gaming as a way of connecting with those they were unable to see in person. With this in mind, PlayStation has decided to offer the privilege of online multiplayer completely free of charge this long weekend, which also happens to coincide with the release of FIFA22 (one of the biggest titles of the year).

If there was any concern that you wouldn’t be able to test out the “Hypermotion” technology of the franchise’s latest iteration with your friends come opening weekend, hopefully, this puts that to bed. Rest assured, you’ll also get to witness the hyper motion of your mate’s controller being sent at the wall after hitting them with a goal in the 92nd minute.

Outside of this weekend, online multiplayer is typically one of the added perks of PlayStation Plus, and this weekend gamers will also get a set of additional games for free. For the month of October, PlayStation Plus users will be able to score themselves Mortal Combat X, PGA Tour 2K21, and Hell Let Loose on top of the online multiplayer functions for the month.

The free online multiplayer access is set to begin on Saturday, October 2nd at 12:01 AM and will run until Monday, October 4th at 11:59 PM. You can hop on to either PS4 or PS5 anytime this weekend and play FIFA22 or any of your favourite multiplayer PlayStation online games with no additional cost or membership commitment required. All you need is a PSN account and some internet and you’re good to go.
