Off the back of a sold-out American tour, Jack Black and Kyle Gass of Tenacious D announced their Spicy Meatball Tour will hit Aussie shores in 2024.

For those of you born before the year 2000, that name might ring a very distant bell. But if you were to recall the anthem-worthy tracks like ‘Tribute’ (“the greatest, and best song in the world”), ‘The Metal,’ and ‘Kickapoo,’ you’d surely be transported back to a simpler time when Halo: Combat Evolved had only just been released and Nickelback was topping the charts.

For those of you unfamiliar with Tenacious D, however, the duo’s rock ‘n’ roll-comedy stardom earned them an HBO variety series, a platinum-certified album, as well as their own feature film featuring Dave Grohl as the Devil. While they started to see success in the early 2000s, it wasn’t until 2013 that Tenacious D received their first Grammy nomination, and in 2015, they won for Best Metal Performance with The Last in Line.

The Spicy Meatball Tour kicked off last year with shows in two dozen different cities across America and Europe, which included a sold-out performance in London’s iconic O2 arena. It’ll mark the first time Tenacious D has undertaken an Australian tour in 11 years, making 2024 the year countless fans have been waiting for.
