A few months ago, Showtime announced finance-legal drama Billions starring Damian Lewis and Paul Giamatti was set to return for the second half of season 5 in September.

Slated for a September 5th premiere date in the US and September 6th here in Australia via domestic streaming platform Stan, fans are finally receiving the last five episodes they’ve been waiting over a year for.

In the second half of Billions season 5, the presence of powerful billionaire Mike Prince (portrayed by Corey Stoll) sends ripples all throughout Axe Capital and gives Attorney US General Chuck Rhoades (portrayed by Paul Giamatti) a potential new weapon in his lengthy fight against billionaire nemesis Bobby Axelrod (portrayed by Damian Lewis).

Alliances will be formed, torn apart, and formed anew – and everyone from Taylor (portrayed by Asia Kate Dillon) to Wendy (portrayed by Maggie Siff) gets roped into the conflict, which comes very close to destroying everything they hold dear.

According to Deadline, other key players we can expect appearances from David Costabile as Mike “Wags” Wagner, Condola Rashad as Kate Sacker, Kelly AuCoin as “Dollar” Bill Stearn, and Jeffrey DeMunn as Charles Rhoades, Sr. Janeane Garafolo is also locked in to guest star as Winslow – “the hip owner of a legal cannabis corp.”

Before Billions could even return for the latter half of season 5, Showtime renewed the Brian Koppelman, David Levien, and Andrew Ross Sorkin-created series for a sixth instalment. Multiple sources have confirmed Billions season 6 will be released in early 2022.
