Critically acclaimed series, Atlanta, has been keeping fans on the edge of their seats for a follow up season. Helmed by our favourite multi-hyphenate, Donald Glover, it is set to make a return in March of this year. Now, a trailer is finally upon us.

The two year delay for this sophomore effort was due in part to Glover’s hectic schedule. Having balanced the release and touring of his latest album, Awaken, My Love! under his Gambino identity, making appearances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, filming several other appearances in the upcoming Han Solo Star Wars standalone movie, as well as the upcoming Lion King remake— suffice it to say, he’s the gift that keeps on giving, and we’re very lucky to have him.

This soon-to-be released season has been dubbed by cast and crew as the “Robbin'” season.

“‘Robbin’ season’ for most people who don’t know is a time in Atlanta before Christmas time and New Years where a bunch of crime happens in that time because people have to get Christmas gifts and people need money so it’s a time when robberies go up all the time,” says Stephen Glover, head story editor to the show and younger brother of Donald.

“You might get your package stolen off your front porch. When we were there shooting my neighbour got her car stolen off her driveway. It’s a very tense and desperate time so we wanted to make that a backdrop to our season and our characters are going through that same type of transition their whole lives to where they’re headed now. Robbin’ Season is kind of like a metaphor for all of our characters.”

Atlanta has been collecting accolades in the past year or so. Winning Emmys for acting and directing, and Golden Globes for Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy, and yes, acting.
