In 2014 Rick Knudsen won the $250 million California Mega Millions Jackpot and did what any self-respecting American lotto winner would do, bought a fuck-off sized mansion. Knudsen splashed out over $7 million on an 845-acre property known as Eagle Crest Estate. He went on to purchase the adjacent land that includes a buffalo ranch as well as a steakhouse in the local town, spending an extra $15 million on these properties. After five years of the country life, he’s decided it’s time to sell up and move on to something new.
Eagle Crest Estate is listed at $36 million and sure to attract plenty of buyers. It’s the only property in Southern California sitting 9,000 feet above sea level and includes views spanning from Little San Gorgonio to Mount San Jacinto, the San Gabriel Mountains, Salton Sea, and to Catalina.
The quintessential American property features a 17-seater theatre with a George Lucas sound system, a candy bar, games room, fully equipped gym, two living areas, five bedrooms and eight bathrooms. There’s also a jacuzzi, sauna and three level elevator in the 6,000 square foot house that also includes a 4,000 square foot garage.
The adjoining buffalo ranch is fully functional and includes two barns, a one bedroom shack for a caretaker and 45 grass and apple fed buffalo. These buffalo are then served at the four-star Oak Glen Steakhouse & Saloon located in the nearby. The restaurant has been completely renovated and features a fully serviced bar and can seat up to 150 guests.
