Let it be known that the Italians take their coffee seriously. And by the looks of the first Italian Starbucks location, serious comes with a luxe storefront.

The US coffee chain recently cut the red ribbon on the Starbucks Reserve Roastery, Milan in the Piazza Cordusio with many already calling it “… the most beautiful Starbucks store to-date…”.

The Reserve Roastery, Milan has set out to honour the rich Italian coffee culture by offering customers an “… immersive coffee experience…”. Or in the exact words of the Starbucks Reserve website, it seeks to “… [pay] tribute to the passion, science, and craft of coffee found within these city streets.”

The Milan facilities includes everything from:

  • Scolari coffee roasters
  • a “… first-of-its-kind…” Milanese bronze unfolding cask
  • a wood-fronted main bar complete with “… Italian fluting and Tuscany-sourced marble…”
  • Starbucks’ inaugural affogato station (“… serving made-to-order single-batch ice cream…”)
  • as well as an Arriviamo Bar where cocktails and food will be served

What is there left to say except that it’s a location well and truly in its own class?

The Starbucks Reserve Roastery, Milan in the Piazza Cordusio is now open for business. Find out more here.
