It might resemble a mid-century film camera that Dieter Ram dreamed up, but this cutting-edge piece of tech promises to elevate your home cinema experience to an entirely new level, leaving your current television to gather dust in the cupboard (or fingerprints on the nature strip).

Say hello to the LG CineBeam Q: an extremely versatile 4K UHD projector that marries clean design with up to 120 inches of crisp resolution.

While the form factor — complete with an arm that serves as both a handle and a stand to position the projector just how you want it — is certainly striking, it’s what lurks beneath the sleek metallic exterior that should get you excited.

Powered by LG webOS 6.0, the CineBeam Q projector is capable of delivering 4K images with a maximum resolution of 3,840 x 2,160, as well as a 450,00:1 contrast ratio. All up, it weighs just 1.49 kilos and arrives in a wonderfully portable package that measures just 135mm x 135mm x 80mm.

Other key specifications include:

  • Auto Screen Adjustment (Zero Keystoning Required)
  • 3-Channel Laser Light Source
  • Netflix, YouTube, Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, & More Supported
  • Apple AirPlay 2 & Screen Share Compatible
  • Screen Size: Up to 120 inches (304cm)

Perhaps its only downside is its true “portability.” Unlike its battery-powered counterparts, the CineBeam Q Projector requires a direct power source. Additionally, given its brightness rating of 500 ANSI Lumens, you’ll need a darkened room to appreciate the full effect.

The LG CineBeam Q Projector is now available for pre-order with deliveries expected to start from April 2nd. Bonus: LG is currently offering a $500 discount for anyone who cops theirs before it officially hits shelves.
