The 2024 Polestar 2 BST Edition 230 Has Been Unveiled (But It’s Not Coming Down Under)

You always don’t need to own a car to enjoy the fact that it exists, which is fortunate for fans of Volvo’s EV spin-off brand and its recently unveiled 2024 Polestar 2 BST Edition 230. Because unfortunately for those of us Down Under, none will be arriving on Australian shores.

In a similar naming convention to examples produced format to the BST Edition 270 (of which just 270 examples rolled off the factory floor), only 230 vehicles will be made under the BST Edition 230 for 2024 and all are destined for Europe and North America. Exclusively produced in a left-hand drive configuration, the 230 is an upgraded version of the 270 with larger wheels and brakes, improved suspension, and a tweaked design, but most importantly – more power and longer range.

The performance-focused EV arrives with a twin-motor powertrain that converts to an impressive 469bhp/502 lb-ft of torque, while its numbers on the road are more than enough to turn heads with a 4.4 second sprint time and a top speed just north of 200km/h. It arrives with the option of a rather attractive (and exclusive to this model) Nebula green paint job or Space black, while the interior has been decked out with microsuede upholstery produced using “partly recycled Nubuck textile.”

It’s a damn shame that such a compelling new offering from Polestar won’t be available in Australia, but with reportedly just 25 units arriving in the UK, we can only take solace in its ultra-exclusivity and cross our fingers for the next Polestar Edition to hit our local showrooms. Prices for the 2024 Polestar 2 BST Edition 230 will start from US$80,900 (AU$121,100).
