After finding favour with intrepid male shoppers in the pages of Esquire and The Rake, Hong Kong indie label Craftsman Co is making its biggest splash yet by teaming up with Ilaria Urbinati – the celebrity stylist best known for dressing Hollywood A-listers in the mould of The Rock and Ryan Reynolds.
Leaning on Urbinati’s proven knack for pulling together raffish, macho ensembles, Craftsman Co has released a capsule of some 17 items inspired by “the unsung heroes of Hollywood,” namely – stuntmen.
Contrasting rugged styles of apparel with sumptuous fabrics (e.g. Japanese selvedge and Italian suede) the brand envisioned the outerwear, trousers, and handful of tops that make up the collection as idealised pieces for a dynamic lifestyle. Comfortable and classic enough for the Monday-to-Friday wardrobe, but even better behind the wheel on track day.
The theme of in-period stuntmen is at its most aggressive when you’re canvassing the capsule’s outerwear offering, heavily influenced by Urbinati’s own affinity for military and pioneer-inspired styling.

Ranch coats in green and tobacco suede are the clear style statements, but Craftsman’s underlying ethos (of comfortable menswear, made with a view to longevity) is alive and well: exemplified in this capsule’s G1-style bomber jacket. Fabricated in navy suede and fitted with a detachable shearling collar, it can easily be worn in a fashion that turns any action choreographer look into something more subtle.
While the majority of this capsule’s signature outerwear has been formulated for Los Angeles’ Mediterranean climate, there’s a little more variety in the trouser department. Urbinati has turned her hand to the Gurkha: a military-inspired signature at Craftsman Co, available this time around in seven different shades and fabric compositions – ranging from seasonal picks like British corduroy to ‘four season’ cotton twills.
“I was really excited to work together with Craftsman on the kind of pieces that I can really envision my clients wearing,” said Urbinati.
“I’m a huge fan of the timeless look of [the brand’s] collections and each piece’s luxurious build quality – even in my job, that’s something I don’t see nearly enough of.”
