adidas NMD_V3

Best Sneaker Releases October 2022

Last month adidas breathed fresh air into a classic silhouette with the launch of the NMD_V3 collection, available in a host of new colourways and boasting an environmentally sustainable edge. The mesh textile in the upper section is made from 50% Parley Ocean Plastic, while the other half is sourced from recycled polyester. Our favourite colourway is the black/white/grey addition, which features a breathable black mesh upper, grey details and a white midsole unit, resulting in a versatile everyday sneaker.

Salomon XT-6 GORE-TEX (GTX)

Best Sneaker Releases October 2022

Salomon’s run of winners continues with this latest technically focused shoe, which dials it up to 11 with a little help from the folks at GORE-TEX. Executed in warm brown and khaki tones, the upper is constructed using a GORE-TEX ePE membrane that will not only last a lot longer than your average sneaker but also serve to keep your feet warm and dry if the weather is rubbish. We’re loving what Salomon is doing at the moment and this latest XT-6 is exactly why.

Todd Snyder x New Balance 237 “City Gym”

Best Sneaker Releases October 2022

For Todd Snyder’s latest collaborative effort with New Balance, the clothing designer looked back to his first New York pop-up in 2013 for inspiration, reviving the all-grey palate of the time for workout clothing. Featuring more shades of grey than you can count on one hand, this 237 silhouette is made comfortable thanks to a terry cloth interior, uppers executed in satin and suede, as well as a black Nappa leather heel unit. Complete with a throwback waffle-tread outsole, they get better the closer you look at them.

Ronning Type 0-3 Everyday Sneaker

Best Sneaker Releases October 2022

Here at the Boss Hunting office, we love a pair of everyday white trainers as much as the next bloke, which is why this new release from the London-based Ronning brand caught our eye. With an emphasis on premium materials, the Type 0-3 Everyday Sneaker features tumbled white leather and grey suede upper sections, goat leather lining and versatile gum rubber outsoles. If you want to stand out from the usual crowd of Common Projects, consider Ronning’s latest offering.

Under Armour HOVR Phantom 3

Under Armour UA HOVR Phantom 3

With so many ultra-specific sports shoes on the market right now, it’s unusual for an athletic footwear brand to create an everyday sneaker, but that’s exactly what we’ve got in the Under Armour HOVR Phantom 3. As a more refined version of its predecessor, the Phantom 3 has a textured UA Intelliknit upper that is as comfortable as it is breathable, as well as a serious midsole unit with responsive UA HOVR cushioning. For all the hours you aren’t in the gym.

Nike Zoom Vomero 5 “Wheat Grass”

Best Sneaker Releases October 2022

Just in time for the northern hemisphere’s autumn, Nike has released a seasonally appropriate Vomero 5 colourway “Wheat Grass,” with golden brown uppers and a bold orange Swoosh. The upper is mesh and leather material, featuring several reflective sections and a structured heel unit to complete the look. These won’t last long on shelves.

Danner x James Bond Mountain Light II

James Bond’s Omega Seamaster gives owners a taste of life as 007 and that’s exactly what you’re getting with Danner’s latest release, with a special edition silhouette to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the film series. In addition to subtle 007 branding, this expression of the Mountain Light II features a Horween leather construction that has been waterproofed by a GORE-TEX lining. Combined with a Vibram Megagrip Kletterlift outsole and you’ve got yourself a pair of boots that can handle anything you might come across.

Ciele Athletics x Norda 001 “Gravel Edition”

Fellow Canadian running companies Ciele Athletics and Norda have linked for a pair of rough-and-ready trail running shoes that look great with grey and tan colours contrasted by orange highlights. Featuring an upper woven with bio-based Dyneema, a Vibram SLE midsole unit and a norda x Vibram exclusive design Formation soleplate, the 001 “Gravel Edition” is made to handle anything. Plus, you’re not likely to see too many of these hitting the Australian trails.

Moncler x fragment design GORE-TEX TrailGrip GTX High Hiking Boot

The good folks at Moncler have linked with the multidisciplinary artist and collaborator behind fragment design and footwear designer Nathan VanHookto to create a pair of luxurious hiking boots. If you’ve got northern hemisphere winter plans, you’ll enjoy the light-brown nubuck uppers, EVA midsole with a carbon fibre plate and a Vibram Megagrip rubber outsole with 4.5cm of stack height. If that wasn’t enough, GORE-TEX has provided a waterproof membrane to keep your feet dry and warm, making these an ideal all-around winter boot.
