After what can only be described as a lukewarm reception to the first Tiffany & Co x Nike Air Force 1 1837, it looks like the creative teams at the two iconic American brands are giving the people exactly what they want after Tiffany exec Alexandre Arnault shared a post to Instagram of a new colourway for the collaborative kicks. Trading the black outsole and suede leather upper for robin-egg blue, it’s an entirely different look for the Tiffany & Co Nike AF1.

It’s been a big fortnight in the LVMH family, with the news breaking midway through last month that the multihyphenate creative Pharrell Williams was joining Louis Vuitton as its new creative director, filling the role that was left open by the passing of the American designer Virgil Abloh. The hype-making machine that is LVMH is clearly taking its role as an influencer of culture very seriously, with the unexpected partnership between traditional jeweller Tiffany & Co and leading-edge Nike just one example of it fusing the old and the new into white-hot commodities.

Both versions of the Tiffany & Co x Nike Air Force 1 1837 collaboration are set to drop via the Nike SNKRS app on March 7th and will also be available from Tiffany Flagship Next Door, Tiffany & Co. SoHo and select Nike retailers around the world with an RRP of US$400 (AU$565). Unfortunately, for that price, you won’t be getting the additional accessories that feature in the collaborative collection, including the sterling silver shoe brush, shoe horn, and sports whistle.
