Few watchmakers on the planet are seen in more movies, TV shows, and video games than Hamilton, and while most of those watches are featured unofficially, its latest official collaboration is one of the best yet. With the hotly anticipated arrival of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 comes the Hamilton Khaki Field Auto 38mm Call of Duty Special Edition, a clean collaboration that nails the details from every angle.
Since 1932, when a Hamilton watch first appeared on screen in the Marlene Dietrich-led classic Shanghai Express, the American-founded watchmaker has been Hollywoodโs go-to for timepieces, appearing in more than 450 feature films. Arguably, its most famous recent appearance was in Christopher Nolanโs Interstellar, but Hamiltonโs golden screen time also extends to the likes of Dune, Tenet, The Martian, Oppenheimer, and even James Bondโs wrist in Live and Let Die.
Hamilton has also been featured in a handful of video games like Far Cry 6 and Death Stranding 2, but its tie-in with the Call of Duty series has to be one of our favourites so far. Not simply because itโs one of the hottest games ever created, with tens of millions of players around the world, but because the visual link to the game is a subtle one, with Hamilton letting its military field watch history do the rest of the talking.

If youโre familiar with the regular production Hamilton Khaki Field Auto 38mm, youโll be familiar with most of the specs of the Call of Duty Special Edition. It boasts a stainless steel case (10.9mm thick), 100m of water resistance, the H-10 calibre with an 80-hour power reserve, and a large crown for winding the movement while setting the time.
The dial is classic Khaki Field, with Super-LumiNova-coated hands and hour markers, a red-tipped seconds hand for precise time-telling, and a date window at 3 oโclock for some modern-day-to-day convenience. Itโs paired with a khaki green NATO fabric strap, which features some nice brown leather detailing. In short, itโs a perfect everyday watch, no matter if youโre heading to the office or saving the world like COD character Axel Vermaak, whoโs set to wear the same watch on his digital wrist in the game.

The quiet nod to Black Ops 7 can be found on the caseback of the watch, which is engraved with the gameโs three-headed Chimera logo โ a legend of ancient Greek mythology with the heads of a lion, goat, and snake. In addition to the caseback engraving, owners will also receive a special COD-themed tactical case for the watch, cementing its special edition status among watch collectors and gaming fans.
In a time when so many special edition watches are overtly branded on the dial or case, itโs refreshing to see Hamilton take a less-is-more approach with this collaboration. After all, the Khaki Field watch collection can trace its roots back to the battlefields of World War II, when the brand produced more than a million watches for the U.S. Armed Forces, giving it all the credentials you could want in a watch for a modern military video game.

Especially if youโre a fan of the Call of Duty universe, this is one of the best gaming-linked watch releases weโve seen, thanks to its quiet versatility as a watch you could wear just about anywhere. The Hamilton Khaki Field Auto 38mm Call of Duty Special Edition arrives as a limited edition of 5,000 pieces with an RRP of $1,450.
If you want to check out the Hamilton Khaki Field Auto 38mm Call of Duty Special Edition before itโs available for sale, the watch will be on display in Sydney at a Call of Duty pop-up in Pitt St from November 7th to 9th. Then, itโll be on display in Melbourne the following week, from November 10th to the 16th, exclusively at a Melbourne Central Clock Tower pop-up (yes, the only place you can buy it), along with a range of other popular watches from Hamilton.
