We’ve already shown you how to enjoy a whopping 53 days off this year using just 23 days of annual leave, but Uber has taken it to the next level with an AI-powered “excuse generator” to make ditching work even easier.

Particularly in light of the coming ANZAC Day public holiday, which would conceivably be stretched to another four-day weekend.

The software is capable of processing thousands of real-time data points to churn out a personalised reason for why your boss should bench you. And while both the quality and success rate of these results may vary… we appreciate the assist all the same.

“We anticipate leave-hacking millennials will be the biggest generational adopter of this new generator, with 76% of that demographic cohort telling YouGov they specifically book time off work in and around public holidays to take advantage of a long weekend and maximise their time off,” notes Uber.

“That’s compared to Gen Z (67%), Gen X (68%), and Baby Boomers and older (59%) who attempt to plan leave around public holidays.”

In addition to this, the company is also unlocking $1 million in discounts and savings available across the ride-hailing service and Uber Eats exclusively for Uber One members (from April 24th until April 28th). Think of it as a consolation prize for those who don’t have the stones to pull the trigger on another potential four-day bender.
