Looks like the Westpac OpenAir Cinema will once again have a bit of competition this summer in the Mov’In Outdoor Bed Cinema.

In past years, Mov’In has hosted its cinematic affairs on the waters of Darling Harbour and on the rooftop of the Entertainment Quarter for a drive-in style experience. This year, we’ll be afforded the primo opportunity to lounge in beds on a “beach” at Barangaroo.

Aside from a night sky that’s the envy of the world-at-large, 150 queen-sized beds, and an impressive 15-metre 4K screen paired with noise-cancelling headsets (so as to not disturb the locals) expect food & drink delivered straight to you, thematically-appropriate tunes from a DJ upon arrival, as well as dress-up evenings for specific screenings.

The forthcoming selection includes some of 2023’s biggest releases, ranging from the critically-acclaimed Everything Everywhere All At Once, John Wick: Chapter 4, Barbie, and Killers of the Flower Moon, to The Marvels and The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes.

We’re also in for a smattering of new releases, like the hotly-anticipated Napoleon and Ferrari, in addition to Studio Ghibli’s The Boy and the Heron; the not-so-hotly-anticipated Anyone But You, along with a few classic titles.

Tickets for one of these summer-centric Mov’In Outdoor Bed Cinema screenings are priced between $12 and $75 per head. Find out more below.
