It seems like Mr Porter just can’t be stopped. Having explored new terrains a few months ago with their debut ready-to-wear line (a seven year research undertaking), capsule collaborations with the likes of Noah, the sheer output has been insane. And as if that wasn’t enough, you can now get yourself a piece of the steezey Balenciaga x Mr Porter collection.
The articles are very clean cut. The minimalist approach touches on both normcore and higher end fashion. The colour palettes are very much understated, nothing is ever too loud. But that being said, this isn’t your introverted kid in the back corner of class either. This is the kid with a larger-than-life attitude, the one to smoke in the parking lot between classes, and probably the first one to drink. In terms of accessories, this is where things get a little more vibrant. Card holders, caps, and lanyards, this collection has (almost) thought of it all. Most of which have been emblazoned with the Balenciaga logo. Sometimes you just need to flex a little.
The only downside to this collaborative efforts are the shoes. The first of which could be mistaken for a cheap Zara knock-off, and the second attempting to champion ugly-chic. I’ll say this one more time for the people in the back: clunky distressed sneakers will never happen, stop trying to make it happen.
