After a few years of pandemic-related delays, Tony Hawk is dropping back into Australia early next year.

The skating icon, who requires no further introduction (but potentially some photo ID), is embarking upon a three-city speaking tour dubbed An Evening With Tony Hawk which is set to kick off in Sydney before making its way to Melbourne and Brisbane within the same week.

Similar to the speaking tours of other cultural behemoths, you can expect the entire affair to be a retrospective of his finest moments — professional and otherwise — ranging from the historic moment he pulled off the first-ever 900 to when Activision slid him a $4 million cheque for simply being associated with Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4.

For those of you in Brisbane, while that particular leg of the tour is already sold out, Tony Hawk is delivering an immersive experience as something of a consolation prize. To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Pro Skater, Fortitude Music Hall will be transformed into a replica game level which he’ll actually drop into (11-foot vertical ramp, and all).

In addition to witnessing greatness with your own eyes, the Birdman: Or the Unexpected Virtue of a Tony Hawk Pro Skater Cover Band (who are also opening each speaking event) will be banging out tunes; with DZ Deathrays (DJ set), Yours Truly, Teenage Joans, Bodyjar, and Alex Lahey taking to the stage later on. And yes: there will be a dedicated console station for those keen to digitally shred.
