While Bryan Cranston is once again breaking bad in the legal/crime drama series Your Honor, fellow AMC alumnus and star of Better Call Saul – Bob Odenkirk – is taking a slightly different route in his career beyond collaborating with Vince Gilligan. Under the gratuitous direction of Ilya Naishuller (Hardcore Henry) and based on a script written by Derek Kolstad (John Wick franchise), Odenkirk will eschew his usual roles as the comic relief, scheming conman, down-on-his-luck loser etc. to portray a character that’s far more alpha in the upcoming action flick – Nobody.

The film will follow Odenkirk as Hutch Mansell, a bloke who appears to be nothing more than a mild-mannered suburban dad. Overlooked, underestimated, and generally written off, Hutch keeps a very low profile, allowing thieves to break into his home and take whatever they please without the slightest retaliation. But a man can only take so much bullshit before he snaps, and as it’s revealed, Hutch isn’t all that he seems.

Hutch was once employed as a hitman/”auditor” by some “very dangerous people” – as will the case with these types of operators – and when he gives into his base instincts by beating the absolute stuffing out of some well-connected goons, soon after, he’s forced to defend his family from a gang of vengeful Russians who want his head on a silver platter. Slickly-choregraphed gunplay and fists ensue.

Odenkirk will be joined by Connie Nielsen, Wu-Tang Clan’s RZA, and Christopher Lloyd. In addition to Naishuller in the director’s seat and Kolstad penning this rather extreme mid-life crisis fantasy, stunt co-ordinating legend turned director David Leitch (John Wick, Atomic Blonde) has served as one of several producers.

Nobody will hit theatres on February 26th in 2021.
